Smiling Bichon Dog

www.chasmsblog.blogspot.com My Bichon smiles for a treat. She smiles anyway when we come home, but we taught her to smile for treats on command and she does. Her name is Snowflake since we got her the week before Christmas nearly 3 years ago. She can smile, dance, sit, lay down, stay and lift her paw for a treat. She taught us to scratch her belly on command.

Thank you! We have two also, but the other doesn’t smile. We had to hide Snowflake in the bedroom for this video so Buttercup wouldn’t distract her from smiling and try to eat all the treats! Snowflake smiles when we come in the door also!

  2. This is the best doggie video I’ve ever seen. We have two bichons but the don’t do this smile thing. That’s fantastic that you could have her smile on command.

You ought to look into doggie commercials. This is just too cute.

  3. I have a Bichon as well, we rescued him as a pup, didn’t know he was a Bichon. After he settled in with us he started this smiling thing, we were blown away that this dog could really smile, he does it all the time and makes our friends laugh. He pooped on the floor and I couldn’t get mad at him because he was smiling.

  4. Like this video. Thanks for posting!

Snowflake used to smile when we came in the door, it was just a matter of getting her to do it for a treat. She still smiles when she comes in and now if I say down and roll over she does that too. Search Incredible Bichon tricks–it is both Snowflake (when she first learned to smile for a treat) and our other Bichon, Buttercup.

Strangely my puppies grow hair but ones a mix and ones a pure bread. But the pure bread can’t have his hair long because he would whimper for all the tangles, I guess I need to comb him more……………

It is a Bichon cut, but she had some matted spots around her collar so they cut her a small shorter. The bichon cuts are hard to maintain with two bichons and two kids : ). Like, Snowflake’s Human Mom

It is the way her hair grows in, and we don’t want to hurt her by changing her hair.
