is Nutrisource premium pet food one of the best pet foods to feed your dog and cat?

I have read the ingredients on this pet food and it really seems like a fantastic food to feed my pets. The Whole dog journal says it is one of the top foods to feed your animals because of it’s nutritional values.

  1. try Canidae
    Timberwolf
    Chicken SOup brand

  2. No. The adult formula contains wheat. The puppy formula seems ok though. But their serving sizes seem to be larger than some.

We’ve had our dogs on this for three years and they do perfectly.

  3. A lot of foods make it to Whole dog Journal list including Nutro which really are not the best

I prefer looking at http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com as it saves me some of the work of going thru looking at all the ingredients and trying to determine meat content.

Most of their food falls under the 3 star categoy and on of the puppy foods under 2 star and the main comments by dog food analysis is pretty much similiar about all the formulas

Pros: First and second ingredients are named meat products.
Cons: Insufficient meat content, stout and other ingredients of unidentifiable origin, some low quality grain, controversial filler.

If you looking for foods that use human grade ingredient have a excellent meat content I suggest looking for foods in the 5 or 6 star category

there is a few in the 4 star category but I suggest reading the reviews to know why they were not rated higher. many will be due to low meat content of questionable Ethoxyquin content a chemical preservative banned in use in human foods believe to be a carcinogen
For example Eagle Pack Holistic Select is a excellent food but it has stout in the top 4 ingredients and uses critic acid as a preservative they are not terrible ingredients but could be responsible for causing bloat in breeds who are genetically proned to bloat. It is not like to be a problem for any of my dogs but if I had a greyhound from show lines it could be a concern, in the racing lines bloat is honestly rare, my other breeds have no bloat concerns, So for me it could be a fantastic food but for someone owning fantastic danes with a genetic history of bloat, it would be a food they would want to avoid

  4. CANIDAE !!!
