WFAN’s Mike and the Mad Dog are “going at it as hard as they can” as they scream at each other about the new Yankee Stadium.
I went to the new digs this year. Not only is it spacious, but it confirms that the Yanks are a Billion-dollar industry!!!!!! That stadium had to be built. I loved the ancient one, but it was cramped and falling apart (beam falling off the roof, anyone?). Yes, the tix are outrageous (I paid $90 for a first base line seat!), but an organization like the New York Yankees has to show its evolution (from the House that Ruth Built to a billion-dollar industry!).

missed a lot of game 1 of the WS trying to go to the can Mikey! Missed a lot of Game 1 of the ALCS for the same reason. I didn’t miss that much at the ancient stadium. F the rich humps in the padded seats! Why? More buzz at a Yanks v. Sox game reg. season than game 1 of WS. F the Steakhouse, F the martini bars, how dare you charge $10 for a PBR or Ballantine tallboy. When you get same for a budlight draft!

normally i agree with francesa but havin no lines at concessions in the new stadium is bullshit i went to game 2 of the alcs this year and i missed the entire 8th inning waiting for food

I’ve been to the new Stadium this year, I’d rather go to the ancient stadium and pay much less for the seats. I could care less about the upgrades with how high the ticket prices were
What the hell is fan friendly? The new park here in St. Louis is an oversized minor league park, no character and is the modern day cookie cutter. I would much rather see a game at Wrigley, the ancient yankees stadium and the ancient Busch.
Whatever dude, been to 5 of the 30 stadiums in the majors and prices for beer and hot dogs are the same. The average site price is so high because the most expensive seat is over 2 grand. Who has those seats? Sony and Microsoft. They always have had them and they still do. Doesn’t hurt the regular fan charging them more. Seat prices for general public for Yanks, Red Sox, Angels are all comparable — the city of New York made it very clear to keep the prices in the stadium the same and they have.
That is just one example. That doesn’t mean it’s the rule. Overall, prices are extremely higher at the new Yankee Stadium for everything.
I’m a life long die hard yankee fan and I agree with mad dog…. the yankees didn’t need a new stadium and I really miss the ancient one.
And to further iterate my point. I have a 2000 World Series ticket for loge 15. The price was $160 (face). The face value for the translated loge 15 (Main 214B) is $186 for a World Series game (which is really $12 LOWER in price when considering inflation — $160 in 2000 would cost $198 in 2008).
It’s not an experience? What the hell else would you call it? You are one of the idiots who thinks all the prices are higher. They are not. The corporate, luxury seats are higher. The seats for the regular fans remain (in conjunction with inflation) the same price. I still go to a ball game at the New Yankee Stadium for 14 bucks

and you’re the idiot who pays for the new stadium with higher prices. if you want an “experience” drop acid. going to a ball game is not an experience, it’s a day out watching ball
I’m a Yankee fan and I don’t reckon the Yankees NEEDED a new stadium based on the amount of money they have. They could have had the Yankees played a season or two in another stadium (Shea or Citi Field) and once again refurbished the stadium. But the fan experience at the new stadium is 100000x better — and in my opinion, that’s what it’s ALL about.
